Spinal
Therapy by Dorn is a method used to relieve problems that are
directly or indirectly related to the spine. It also serves as
a manual for self-help.
When
using the Dorn method, dislocated vertebrae get put back into
place by applying pressure with the thumb. The muscles must be
moving during the process. The movement the patient executes while
pressure is applied causes the muscles to yield.
The
Dorn method does not extend or overextend tendons and ligaments.
In fact, within a short period of time they adapt and can once
again perform their function of helping hold the vertebra in its
position.
An
additional advantage to the Dorn Method is that, with the therapist’s
instructions, the patient can perform exercises at home, whether
it is the treatment of differences in leg length, setting joints
or improving scoliosis.
The spinal cord with its bundled strands of nerves is inside the
spinal column. Pairs of nerves lead from holes in the vertebrae
to “their” organs. When the vertebrae have defects,
even minor ones, the nerves cannot function properly or are not
able to perform at all. One consequence is sciatica pain; indeed,
all the organs and all cell tissues can become underfed and thus
not capable of functioning properly. |
